The magician shows an empty box with an additional panel. The panel is placed in the front of the box. A dove or other small animal is placed inside the box. A wooden dagger is then pushed through the center of the box. When the panel is removed, it appears that the dove has vanished from the box. The dagger can be clearly seen in the box. The panel is placed back in front of the box. The dagger is removed and when the lid is opened, the dove can be taken out of the box.

This effect is designed with the safety of the animal in mind. The dagger does not come even remotely close to the animal. You need to supply your own animal for this effect.
