Rick Maue’s Theatrical Deceptions Lecture is not a regular magic lecture, nor is it a mentalism lecture, or a “bizarre” lecture. Instead, it is a lecture on creating, adapting, and performing strong magic and mentalism for audiences in the real world.

Known as "The Magician's Magician", a title given to him by his peers, meaning that he represents the best of the best in the world of Close-Up Magic, Daryl’s success and reputation are second to none. DARYL earned the gold medal at the World Congress of Magic (the "Olympics" of Magic), in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1982, and 6 Academy Awards from the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California (no one has earned more). Shoot Ogawa is currently the reigning Hollywood Magic Castle Academy of Magical Arts’ Close-up Magician of the Year, and joins ranks with the few magicians to hold this prestigious title more than once (he is also the 2003 winner).

Acclaimed as "One of the finest sleight of hand magicians that I have engaged to perform in the Magic Castle,” (Ron Wilson, Entertainment Director at the Hollywood Magic Castle), Shoot Ogawa has been practicing magic since the tender age of 10 under the tutelage of legendary Master Masahiro Yanagida. An instant television celebrity in Japan, Shoot was turned into a regular Manga character in a popular Japanese comic book. Now living in the United States, he has become one of the most acclaimed magicians to date.

He is now one of the top magical entertainers in the mid-west.  His original magic creations have been published in national and worldwide publications like Magic Magazine, Genii Magazine, The Penumbra, Antinomy, Channel One, and The Linking Ring Magazine.

Nathan has performed in over 80 cities in the United States and Canada as well as France, England, Holland, and Japan. Who do you ask when you want to know something about magic? We here at Fantasma Magic ask Doug Edwards. Doug is a walking encyclopedia of magic knowledge, and trivia. Doug is also an avid collector of magic, and memorabilia. He not only has one of the largest magic collections in the world, but he also owns some of the rarest magic pieces. In fact, he sold some of his most prized possessions to none other than David Copperfield.

Doug is much more than a magic aficionado; he is also one of the greatest close-up magicians, magic inventors, and authors around. There is literally nothing Doug can’t do with cards. He constantly baffles us here at the store, with his incredible legerdemain. We have a corner in the store where Doug frequently holds court astounding everyone with his card manipulation, including the pros that work in the shop. In fact, it’s hard getting any work done while he’s here in the store. Many of Doug’s inventions and books are available at Fantasma and in magic shops around the world. The Tenyo company put Doug’s “Wonder-Pen-etration” on sale in 2004, and it became their largest selling trick that year! Harry Lorayne a legend in magic even wrote a book about Doug’s effects in the 1997 “Doug Edwards Packs A Wallop.” Doug’s own book “Brass Knuckles” was just released this past October and it’s already sold out.
