David Roth Coin Workshop

David Roth says: The first coin workshop which was held a few months ago was such a success that I decided to do a second coin workshop! Once again there will be hands-on personal instruction covering:

Coins across routines
Copper/silver routines moves
Effects with coins in a handkerchief
Okito coin box
Plus coin vanishes, switches, Spellbound moves, and much more!

This workshop is not for the beginner! You should already be able to “classic” palm a coin. You should bring if possible, coins, a close-up pad, coin boxes and a handkerchief, and any trick coins you might want to learn to work with. As before the workshop will be limited to fifteen people and the price is $100 per person.

Fielding West Magic Lecture

Fantasma Magic is very proud to showcase the talents of Mr. Fielding West, a jack of all trades, and a master of them all! Fielding West is not only a magician's magician, but he possesses that very rare and impeccable sense of comedic timing that has landed him the opening spot for some of the biggest names in show business.

A winner in the prestigious Desert Magic Seminar's Comedy Magic competition, Fielding has opened the show for such A-list celebrities as Liza Minelli, Glen Campbell and dozens more. His numerous network television appearances include spots on A&E's An Evening at the Improv, Caroline's Comedy Hour, and NBC's The World's Greatest Magic and World's Wildest Magic specials.

Fielding is also in demand as a writer, magic consultant and technical director and has worked with Lance Burton, Siegfried & Roy and many others.

Le Grand David and His Spectacular Magic Company

Le Grand David and His Spectacular Magic Company is the longest consecutively running stage magic show in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records.

Cesareo Pelaez, the founding director of the Le Grand David Spectacular Magic Company, is being honored Wednesday, October 24, for his contributions to the world of conjuring at Fantasma Magic.

Already on display at the Fantasma Magic showroom through October 24 is a unique exhibit of finely crafted magic posters and richly ornamented illusions and artifacts created by the talented artisans of the Le Grand David Spectacular Magic Company.

As Marco the Magi Cesareo Pelaez has led the Le Grand David Spectacular Magic Company throughout its 32 year history. Purchasing the first of their two vintage vaudeville theatres in 1976, Mr. Pelaez premiered "Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Magic Company" on February 20, 1977. His live, 2 1/4-hour stage magic extravaganza is now recognized as "the longest-running, stage magic production/show" by Guinness World Records.

A book signing is also planned in conjunction with the festivities at Fantasma Magic on October 24. Long considered a living legend within the guild of magicians, Cesareo Pelaez, together with David Bull and Avrom Karl Surath, will be autographing copies of Surath's recently published biography of Pelaez, "There Will Be Wonderful Surprises." The 228-page volume traces Pelaez's singular odyssey from his childhood and early years in theatre in his native Cuba through his emigration to America, and to the founding and present day success of the Le Grand David Spectacular Magic Company.

A youth event will take place on Wednesday October 24, 2007 at 4:30 pm, and a second show for adults at 7:00pm.
